Sentence Correction

Is the following sentence correct? Is "Which" correctly placed with correct punctuation? Pls help.

"His Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is 3.53 out of 4.0, which was published on 31st January 2012."

Now, in 2017, I'd consider 'was' instead of 'is'.

No, "which" isn't in the right place. It should be like this:

"His Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), which was published on 31st January 2012, is 3.53 out of 4.0."
