Sentence Correction

Please advise me whether 'of' of following sentence could be omitted or not.

" 1 kilowatt of electricity can be produced from every 100 square feet of rooftop space " - rewriting the sentence omitting 'of'.

"1 kilowatt electricity can be produced from every 100 square feet of rooftop space"
