Sentence Correction

If any work perform(-ed) by agent cause(-d) any damages a injury to third party, then the principal shall be liable for such damages or injury, but only when the act has been done with in the scope of his authority and any act done beyond such authority will not make the principle responsible.

My questions
1. Please check this sentence & correct my mistakes.
2. Can I use '-ed' and '-d' also in this sentence. Does it make any difference in the meaning?
