FIT meant Freed FIT means Free Independent Traveler or Free Independent Tourist. An FIT is an individual (or small group of < 10) traveling and vacationing with a self-booked itinerary.(http://www.quora.com/What-does-FIT-mean-in-the-tourism-industry)

Ladakh is popularly known as the last Shangri-La, as it remains landlocked and hidden from man’s roving eye for centuries. Ladakh is also known called Little Tibet because it is one of the last remaining sanctuaries where Tibetan Buddhism is found as a living religion.
Ladakh is totally distinct in its culture and topography from the rest of India, as the faces and physique of the Ladakhi and their clothes are more akin to those of Tibet and central Asia than of India. Open to tourism in 1974, the region is predominantly Buddhist, with centuries old monasteries and Stupas dominating the region, a treasure house of fascinating frescos, paintings and statues of Tantric deities, embodying the deep philosophy of Mahayana Buddhism. To explore the Tibetan- Buddhism and cultural heritage in its original form, Ladakh is the place to be.
Humans in Ladakh, can be traced back to the Stone Age, archeological scientists have found evidence from rock sculptures and other source. During the 5th and 6th century Ladakh founded the philosophy of Buddhism from India. The early inhabitants were Indo – Aryan and Tibetan – Mongolian races, these three ethnic groups mingled together to form their own characteristics. Their history began when the pious and great Tibetan prince Skilde Nimagon migrated to Ladakh in the 9th century, and established his kingdom. He sent many young intellectuals around Ladakh to Kashmir and India to study Buddhism. Since Buddhist thought and ideas dominant the life and culture of the people, certain scholars have described Ladakh culture as being a Mahayana Buddhist culture.
Fairs and festivals, Losar is the New Year celebration. The New Year celebration begins on the 25th day of the 10th month of the Tibetan calendar which is the birthday of the Tsongkhapa one of the holiest and greatest monk of Tibet.
Each monastery of Ladakh celebrates the Mask dance festival every year according to the Tibetan calendar and lasts for three days; in these festivals monks wear masks from various protector deities. Social and cultural festivals of Ladakh are marriage ceremonies, birth ceremonies and archery competitions, polo matches and harvest fest. In the field of music, the Ladakhi musicians clam to have 360 tunes called “Lharana”. The Lharana tunes are subdivide in to categories, popularly know as music of the gods and goddess, music for incarnated holy monks and music for the great kinks and heroes.
Besides this, the landscape of Ladakh is glorious but stark and the surrounding mountains are painted in colors that only nature choose, unique and should not be compared to any other hill station of the world, and holy Pangong lake, Tsomoriri lake and Tokay lake are some of the most majestic lakes of the world.
For adventure lovers Ladakh has a lot to offer. The ancient trials that criss cross Ladakh provide some of the most fascinating trekking experiences in the Himalayas. Trekking routes go through sparsely populated remote villages where people live in harmony with the fauna and flora. Many trails pass through ancient monasteries, fertile farming villages and meadows, arid canyons and snow covered mountains, trekking in Ladakh is a fantastic varied adventure. Frozen river trekking on Zanskar river is an ultimate experience for the adventure lover ,the traditional name of the frozen sheet trek is “Chadar trek” the frozen sheet, which has the only way in and out for the Zanskarrians in winter. When all other access is closed due to heavy snow at high passes, it has been, the region for the Zanskarrians people do centuries. White water river rafting in Ladakh is an extreme and a never ending thrill, in the rivers Indus and Zanskar. The rivers of the Trans Himalayas are among the best for body and sprit for the river rafters. Ladakh has an array of options that suit both amateur and professional. Ladakh offer a variety of experiences for mountain biking and motorcycle tours. The route passes through breathtakingly landscapes, with 4 constantly changing terrain that offers exciting unending twists and turns that thrill the soul. Clear pristine ratifying air that gives you energy to carry on for, from one pass to the of, crossing mountains ranges to find beautiful remote villages.
For wild life photograph, Ladakh in the lap of the Himalayan range, that youngest mountain range in the we, is unsurpassed in its wealth of mountain fauna and flora, and rich biodiversity. About 20 periods the area of Ladakh is protected and includes national parks, sanctuaries and reserves. The wildlife includes, Blue sheep, Ibex, Area links, urinal and the Tibetan an antelope, some predators are, the snow leopard, Lynx, wolf, red fox, Tibetan sand fox and brown bear. Ladakh has a great diver of birds, total of 225. The flora of Ladakh comes under alpine. The higher alpine zones dominated by annual and perennial herbs next to stunted shrubs and bushes, that sart at the end of winter with the melting snow that provides moisture, the flora is in full bloom in August and stats to disappear again at the end of September, though cold the desert region of Ladakh may look barren and lifeless to the visitor, but it has a rich plant species, which about 50 percent of plants have medicinal and aromatic properties.
People who have been to Ladakh are deeply impressed by its cultural heritage of Tibet Buddhism, the natural landscape and friendly and charming people.
However, Ladakh isn’t a place that can be explore easily and in a short time, so if you wish to go behind the superficial sightseeing places, and gives us a chance to arrange your tours in Ladakh.
