I have followed qualitative research approach in writing my Master’s thesis and I am extremely eager to know about quantitative research. I learnt SPSS during my bachelor, and I am about to forget it due to lack of application. I think this programme would be helpful for me to refine my quantitative analysis skills. I am totally impressed by the academic curriculum of public policy department of XY University. The programme has basic difference from my prior Master’s. As far I understand from the web information, it has different disciplinary emphasis with the major focus of quantitative research.
One of the unique features of this programme is that every ZY scholarship holders entitled to have a German language course before commencing he programme. The medium of instruction of this programme is English; despite it will be a nice chance to learn one of the most spoken European languages (German). I have studied in Norway for about 2 years; I have not learnt Norwegian except some elementary words. The student dorms I live in Norway are full of international students who usually speak either English or their own language. Interestingly, almost half of them are from Germany as an Erasmus or other exchange programme, and some are for full programme. I have learnt some German words from my German friends. I have also learnt few Swahili and Amharic language from my Ugandan and Ethiopian friends. My interaction with different people from diverse background teach me the truth that how language is important for social integration and interaction. The language placement course of ZY programmes is a great source of motivation for me. On the top of that, this programme has the provision of arranging various networking events for participating different courses and custom made summer school. I would like to grab this marvelous opportunity.
