Sentence correction

I had a chance to hear about the prominent aerospace industry of Quebec, enjoying its status as the third largest aerospace industry in the world.

Hi,

Could you help me check the sentence above?

Is it grammatically correct? If not, how should I fix it?

Thanks

Hi,

I interpret this to mean that it is you who is doing the enjoying, not the industry.

'Enjoying' seems like an odd word to choose. We don't normally enjoy someone else's status. Perhaps 'and I enjoyed learning about its status . . . '

Could somebody be kind enough to elaborate on the issue of whether "enjoying~" is a so-called dangling participle phrase or not?

Somebody give me some closure!!

It is confusing and seems awkward to me. Consider saying:

I had a chance to hear about the prominent aerospace industry of Quebec, which is enjoying its status as the third largest aerospace industry in the world.
