Sentence correction

Hi, I'm really confused, is the following sentence correct or not:

"Without port number, the server would have no way of knowing which application a client wanted to connect to. And since application might have its own unique protocol, think of the trouble you would have without these identifiers."

In the above sentence, is the use of "would have", or "might have" correct or not?

Thanks in advance.

But here is no any impossible past condition "if" condition in the above paragraph with "would have" and "might have". So, how the use of "would have" and "might have" could be correct in the above paragraph?

Thanks in advance.

Would has many uses other than the conditional, but these sentences are conditional.

In the first sentence, "without a port number" is the conditional - (if the application did not have a port number)

In the second sentence "without these identifiers" is the conditional. (If you didn't have these identifiers".
"might have" is only stating a possibility - it is correct.
