0Hi,02br 02br 00I was having a chat with someone and wrote the undermentioed sentences. Althought they seem correct to me, but I am not so sure.02br 02br 02br 00"01b00Thanks a lot Dreamer! Frankly speaking, I have seen what institutes teach you at their classroom sessions, and really I was not much impressed. PY was an exception, reasons being they have maintained such a good site and the fundamentals described there are done so in such a thoughtful manner that one can't resist learning them. But as you said, the time and travel both are major issues. " 02b02br 02br 00 First reason is that I started with present perfect and then moved to past. Is it correct? "01b00I have seen what institutes teach you at their classroom sessions, and really I was not much impressed". 02b02br 02br 00 Second reason is that I started off with past tense "01b00PY was an exception02b00," and then moved to present perfect beacuse the reason still holds true "01b00reasons being they have maintained such a good site02b00". Is it okay? 02br 02br 00 Third is I have used "01b00described02b00" in " 01b00the fundamentals described there are done so in such a thoughtful manner that one can't resist learning them", 02b00I have omitted "01b00that are02b00" from " 01b00the fundamentals that are described" 02b00and made the above sentence and it does sound correct to my ears. 02br 02br 00 Just want a second opinion on my writing. Do point out mistakes in the whole post if there are any.02br 02br 00Thanks,02br 00Rahul 0-

0Your tenses are fine, but I really strugged to understand "01b00what institutes teach you at their classroom sessions.02b00"02br 02br 00I think you mean "what is taught by institutes in their classrooms" and eventually I got that meaning, but I'm not sure. 02br 02br 00Personaly, I find "reasons being" to be sloppy or slang-y. 0 Thanks a lot Grammar Geek! Yes, you have got it right. That's what I intended to say. If I had provided the context of the conversation it would have been a lot simpler to understand what I meant. I had this conversation with a friend of mine who had (or has as he is still enrolled there, don't know which one to use) joined a coaching institute for an exam. I am also preparing for the same exa
0I eventually got that meaning, but see if you can see how I first read it as "which of the institutes teach "elcid"..." and then I got confused. I expected the subject matter that was taught to follow the verb "teach." I teach Spansih, she teaches quantum physics, the insitute teaches you... 02br 02br 00It's not mandatory that the structure work that way. There are are many
0Now that you have mentioned it it does seem confusing. 05002br 00Thanks a lot GG(Hope you don't mind my calling you GG 05100)! You are my hero!010id311id5
