sentence correction

There are a surprisingly huge number of people collect buses and coaches.

I know this sentence is wrong. I'd like to know if the following corrections are correct:

There are a surprisingly huge number of people who/that collect buses and coaches.

There are a surprisingly huge number of people collecting buses and coaches.

Thanks.

Thank you Mister Micawber. Is the second correction '...collecting buses...' less formal than the first?

No-- just a different way of expressing it:

There are a surprisingly huge number of people who/that collect buses and coaches.
There are a surprisingly huge number of people [who/that are] collecting buses and coaches.
