sentence correction

Hello,

1. He was covered from head to toe with powder.

2. He was covered with powder from head to toe.

Which one is correct?

2. He was covered with powder from head to toe.

They are both OK. As a very general guideline, I'd say you give things more emphasis as you move them from the end towards the front of a sentence. You could also say

3. From head to

1. He was covered from head to toe with powder.
It's an interesting point. Moving something towards the front of the sentence does increase the emphasis, in some respects; but delaying it, as here, may increase its impact.
