Sentence correct?

Hi, everyone.

I read this sentence on this site:

https://www.dawn.com/news/1441902

" The mysterious trip happened a day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the first visit to Oman by an Israeli premier in over 20 years."

Is it correct? Or should it read: The mysterious trip happened a day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the first visit to Oman, making it the first visit by an Israeli premier in over 20 years.

Thank!
