Hi Mr. vishwa,
I came by walk - This statement is widely used in Asian countries, and the people don't consider it as wrong. However, the correct way to express is: I came on foot

Hi, sri,
Are you saying that natives of Asian countries who are speaking English say, "I came by walk," or are you translating to English from Asian languages?

Best wishes, - A.

Mr. Avangi,
Yes, Most of the Asians express it as " I came by walk". They are habituated to say so, irrespective of the grammar rule.

Hi sri,

Thanks for your comment. Your answer is valid. what you wrote is right and my confusion is cleared.

This trend is there all over south asia. We may be wrong, but it is habituated in our lives. very thanks and regards.

Hi,

It wouldn't be wrong to say 'I came by walking'. But it sounds a bit uncommon.

We commonly just say 'I walked'.
