Sentence comprehension

Hi

A woman who came back to the town she had left before was thinking to herself:

Thinking of him (Wesley) brought to mind his words about God

working in a mysterious way; and suddenly she was lifted

out of her fear and doubt and filled with a sense of destiny.

She had remembered at the precise moment that she had

because it was then too late, she had been brought back to

Walwyk and committed to remaining because her sole

purpose was to save Ethel Rigby. It was as simple as that.

Does it mean that at the moment she thought about Wesley she remembered that she was brought (probably by God) back to Walwyk (because when she was here the first time it was too late to save Ethel) and she commited herself to staying in this town just to save the girl named Ethel.

Does it make sense?
