Sentence completion

Hello,

I'm working on a few exercises and have some problems with two sentences.

The first goes:

"I was in a c____ - j_____ in South America. I was forced to get out of my car."

Would "car-joyride" be the right answer to this one?

The second sentence is:

"The expression to "f_____ ______ _____" means to feel depressed."

I was thinking of "feel under the weather" but it means to "be ill/sick" besides it would require four gaps.

Could you please help me with these two?

Thank you.
