Sentence check

The court did not approve a father's custody and parental authority for interfering with the mother's visitation rights.

My question is

In the text above, does "did not approve" works well with "for" in giving reasons for the disapproval?

Do you think it's better to use "disapproved" rather than "did not approve"?
