Sentence check

Hi,

are the following sentences correct?

1) You can barely handle a pistol, let alone a machine gun.

2) She was trying to order the dress from the US but couldn't deal with it, so I came to help her.

3) I had never seen an accident like this before. There were corpses everywhere and I was so terrified that I could not think clearly. I'd noticed that even other people were not working the way they should be.

4) If there should be a problem,do not hesitate to contact us - we will help you at any time.

5) She was acting/acted as if she had gone nuts. (both tenses are correct,I guess - it depends on the context, right?)

6) I was working in the kitchen the whole afternoon, while John did not bother to do anything else but lying on the couch watching TV.

Thank you in advance!
