Sentence check

Hi,

here´s a sentence from Wikipedia:

"While he confessed to 27 murders, of which nine were confirmed, his actual body count could be higher."

Is it possible to write it in this way?

His actual body count could be higher since he confessed to 27 murders, nine of which were confirmed.

Thank you in advance.

It's correct English, but do you feel that his confession justifies the conclusion that his body count may be higher?
