Sentence analysis with phrasal verbs.

Hello,

I woukd be grateful if someone could help me uto understand the analysis and function of words in the following sentence . ( It's a request someome might give on the phone).

I wish to be put through to Mr. Smith please.

I believe that wish is the main verb and to be is its object, but doesn't the phrasal verb (put through also play the role of a verb here and is it common for a phrasal verb like this to follow an object?

Any corrections or comments would be welcome. Thank you.
