Hi.

Students have to listen and take notes.

Question #1: Is the underlined part an auxiliary verb?

Question #2: Is take transitive in the sentence? (notes is the object.)

I have to do different kinds of analysis on sentences.(In terms of types of subject and predicate, form and function of each word and phrase, and sentence patterns.) However, I don't want to know more than I have asked in the questions in my previous post; if necessary, I would let you know the standards of my textbook according to which we analyze sentences.

Doesn't this question answer itself? If it has an object, it's transitive. That's the definition of 'transitive'.

I would say no. The main verb is 'have' and only 'have'. It is the complement of 'have' that
