Could you please check if the sentence below from an article characterizing the year 2014 is correct? Do I need definite articles before “economic crisis” and “stagnation” if they are mentioned in the article for the first (and actually for the last) time?
The Economic crisis raging in Europe and indeed in the rest of the world and the stagnation in Russia have made the situation even more complicated.
