The given sentence is apparently okay. "Many returns of the day" apparently means "have many more birthdays," that is, "live a long life." However, I'm a native English speaker in the US, and this is the first time in my life that I've seen the expression "many returns of the day." I had to look up its meaning. Very few Americans would know what it means.
