Sentence

Suddenly the man runs out of bullets and the shooting stops. Officer Owens waits a few moments, then cautiously gets up and looks around, but can’t see the man anywhere.

Hi. Is the second sentence fine and is it punctuated correctly?

Top answer

It's punctuated correctly and it's acceptable, but for the last clause consider "but he can't see the man anywhere".
