Is this paragraph understandable:


"As someone who was raised Catholic, I can say that being a Catholic is just a label, because in reality it doesn't OBLIGE you to anything."


Note: By 'oblige', I mean that there are no real prohibitions.

I would possibly say 'it doesn't oblige you to do - or not do - anything.'
