Yes, but "introduction" is rather oblique. If the food was presented buffet style, I would not be able to resist writing "The reception was followed by an Azerbaijani smorgasbord."

No, it doesn't sound natural. It's hard to know what exactly happened.

There was a reception. When the reception was finished, the next thing that happened (followed) was ... the introduction of ...? What is that? When you introduce something, you might talk about it. Was there a lecture on Azerbaijani cuisine? I don't think so.

But receptions usually include food and drink. So why do we wait until after the reception before the food is available for the guests at the reception?

"a large variety of Azerbaijani cuisine" is also a problem. It has to be something like "a large variety of Azerbaijani dishes".

I think you want something more like this:

The reception featured a large variety of Azerbaijani dishes.
