Sentence

Please, can you clear my doubt:

if anyone say that:

1.) it could've been red in colour - it means that it would be nice if it was in red colour / it should be in red colour

2.) it could've been more long - means, it would be nice if it was more long

3.) it could've been more attractive - means it should be more attractive now, it was not up to the mark.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THE ABOVE SENTENCES.

AND HERE WHAT ' it could've been refers to'

We usually just say 'red'. Not 'red in colour'.
