family members and relations Broadly speaking, these two terms are rather synonymous.

Perhaps you mean immediate family members and (more distant) relations.

By family members here I meant father, mother and siblings.
And by relations here, I refer to uncles, aunts, their children.

It would be clearer to use the term 'immediate family' for father/mother/siblings.
