Sentence

Hi if i want to ask (as formal and polite as it's posible) employer about refund the trip cost (from one city to another) can I say sth like this :

" Is it possible to obtain refund of tickets from xxx to yyy because currently I cannot afford it"

Top answer

If you took the trip for business reasons, then your company should pay for it. Don't mention whether or not you can afford it. Even if you have plenty of money, your company should pay for your business-related travel.

Ok thanks.

But I have another question:

In situation when I was invaited for example to interview in another city and I want obtain reimbursement, then I aslo shouldn't add reason why I want this reimbursement ?

No.

Either by company policy, you are entitled to be reimbursed for your travel, or you are not.

If you are interviewing for a job at a company you don't work for yet, the recruiter should tell you in advance whether your travel for the interview is going to be reimbursed by the the company. If it is not their policy to reimburse you, saying that you can't afford it won't change
