Sentence

I'm not sure if this a right place for asking questions like this but I found your forum helpful and I became encouraged to post it to here.

I tried to use these 5 words (palpitate, palatable, inception, intrepid, matron) in one or two sentences. Would you please let me know if it is correct or not and if it could be written in a better way?

The matron was palpitating when she entered the strange restaurent but she tried to look intrepid from the inception and ordered a platable dish.

Apart from the spelling mistakes with "restaurant" and "palatable", the sentence is correct English. It is, of course, a pretty unusual thing to say!

As has been said, apart from the two spelling mistakes and the missing comma, your sentence is grammatically correct, but if the matron is really palpitating, she's not doing a very good job of looking intrepid! Perhaps you meant that her heart was palpitating; in which case, you could write this:

When the matron entered the strange restaurant, her heart was palpitating, but she tri
