Essay & Composition Writing

Sentence

I am confused with the sentences written by someone as following.

Are they acceptable?

1. I go to Boston by car.

2. I go to Boston in a car.

3. I go to Boston by van.

4. I go to Boston on a train.

Top answer

Yes, they're acceptable. Some prior context would be required to make them seem natural. In isolation, a native speaker would probably put them differently.
