Sentence

Hi

A drummer from a rock band says: I would like to think that if there is any confusion about where anybody is in a song, they would know that, as their drummer, I would be on top of it. Easier said than done.

--- Is he saying something like: If one of us loses the rythm of the song when on stage then they know that I, as their drummer, will help them to get it back. However it's easier said then done.

Yes, that's pretty much it. "where anybody is in a song" needn't specifically refer to just the rhythm; it could, for example, refer to confusion about whether the band is going to play a verse or a chorus. But because the drummer is speaking it's reasonable to assume that the confusion is probably related in some way to rhythm.
