sentence

I'm sorry if this post is posted multiple times. I had some problem with my login.

Imagine each curcuit board has a button and an LED and the machine that controls several boards turns on the LED of a board if the button is pressed. Can I say the following to describe it in a sentence?

The machine lights the LED of the board that you press the button.

Please correct any mistakes and if possible, try to reuse the structure. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm not sure you can use "light". I'd say the machine turns on the LED, or turns the LED on. Also "that", I wouldn't say it's ok used that way.

No, that's not right.

Here are two very formal solutions to your problem.

The machine lights the LED on the board whose button you press. (Not a good solution, but possible.)
The machine lights the LED on the board the button of which you press. (Very formal and stiff.)
