I had inquired about the radio.but it is (it will not) not take the frequency as we expect.

Sorry Nano.....your sentence is not correct. I am not really sure what you are trying to say, but I think a better way would be: "I had inquired about the radio, but it does not (doesn't) receive the frequency we wanted."

OR "I inquired about the radio, but it does not (doesn't) receive the frequency we expected." I hope this helps.
