These would normally be taken to have the same meaning. If you really try hard to find a subtle difference, you could argue this way-

#2 makes it clear that the experience related to ostrich-riding.

#1 could mean that the experience occured while riding an ostrich. You see this more clearly if you re-arrange the sentence: Riding an ostrich, I have had experience. However, this is a much more 'unlikely' interpretation.
