0Let's say two people are trying to balance a pot of water on a plank on their shoulders and one person is taller than the other. Can the short guy say, "My shoulders are not as tall as yours. I don't think it will work"? If not, what would you say?0-

0 Is there a reason to think that the person who is 1.5 meters tall will not be able to carry the water as well as the person who is 2 meters tall?02br

00Taller refers to HEIGHT.02br

00Not as broad, not as wide. But NOT not as tall. 0-

00Sorry for the misunderstanding. The two people are trying to balance a pot of water on a plank with each person on one end of the plank. If one person is much taller than the other, the pot will slide and fall off. I hope it's clearer now.0-

0In that 01b00specific02b00 context it will work. Better would be "my shoulders are not as high as yours" or "I am not as tall as you."02br

00You seem to frequently give us the context in tiny bits, and I don't think it's very effective. It would be MUCH MORE HELPFUL and waste less of our time if you would get into the habit of giving us the full c

0I'll try to give as much context as possible in the future. Sometimes, I deliberately hold back the context as I want to see how understandable an expression is in general. I guess I can do that by mentioning in my first post what native speakers think of it with partial context vs full context. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks GG.0-
