Sentance Structure Questions

Hello,

I was wondering if these types of sentance structures are acceptable and correctly punctuated:

1.) Elliott watched the men, waiting for them to make their move.

2.) Elliott pressed the button, recognizing that things would never be the same.

3.) Elliott jerked the wheel, sending the car careening off the cliff.

Either way, I'm interested to know how the clauses after the commas are grammatically classified.

Thanks so much!

They are dependent clauses, and belong "attached" to the main clause (the main body of the sentence) with a comma, just as you have it. Without the comma, in the first sentence, it would be the men who are waiting.
