Sensitize

I know sensitize is a verb but can it be used like this. It’s either a verb used in the passive voice or an adjective right?

This generation is more sensitized to X than we were.

Or would you phrase it as:

This generation has been sensitized to X more than ours.

Thank you

is it correct to say say : use the verb in the “passive voice”? Or passive form?
