Sense of sentence

I got some sentence from the song:
"Someone like you makes it hard to live without somebody else"

But I can't understand the meaning of this expression.
Could somebody help me and explain it in clear text ? I think it belows to idioms or so.......

(Full text of the song is here: http://dag.wieers.com/personal/lyrics/A_Reason_To_Believe.php )

thx.....

Hello Vintersorg, welcome to English Forums! The usual sentiment in a ballad would be "it's hard to live without you". In this case, the singer says "you make it hard to live without somebody else".

  • The usual sentiment in a ballad would be "it's hard to live without you".
  • In this case, the singer says "you make it hard to live without somebody else".
  • In other words, it's a slightly sarcastic comment: "you are such a difficult person to live with, that it would be very easy to live with somebody else instead".
  • The singer seems to have ambiguous feelings towards the female in question, though: he also says "Someone like you makes it hard to think about somebody else", which is more straightforwardly amorous.

I disagree, MrP -- I don't think it's sarcastic -- I think it simply means "someone like you makes it hard to live alone." (alone= without somebody else)
