SENDER / POSTER

Hi! Please, could you help me?

When I write a letter to sbd. and I want to write my address on a wrapping too, is it right to write Sender: blah blah... or Poster: blah blah... ?

Thanks! Kamila :-)

Hi, I usually just write my name and address on the back, at the bottom left corner. ', but it's not really necessary. Best wishes, Clive

Hi,

I usually just write my name and address on the back, at the bottom left corner. If you want to, you could just add 'From: ...', but it's not really necessary.

Best wishes, Clive

I always put 'From' by my address as I have so little faith in the UK postal service that I worry they will think it is the delivery address otherwise!

Hi, Clive!

Do you really write your name at the bottom left corner? Funny, because here we write it on the top left corner, on the flap. Your way of doing things is much more intelligent than ours, I must say...

I write mine on the back.

Yes, so do I, but top left, not bottom left...

In England we put the return address on the back and strike a diagonal line through it, sometimes with "From" next to it. Alternatively, we put it on the front in the lower right corner or, occasionally, left corner.

It would be stupid to put it at the top because then it might be obliterated by the franking machine. (Amer: "cancelling machine")

For that reason we don't
