send something in a particular direction

Hello,
Would it be acceptable to say: "The truck hit the motorcycle and sent it into cornfield nearby"? If send doesn't work, what would work?

Thank you

Yes, that's true. I am sorry. Is there anything else we could use? Maybe "The motorcycle was jolted into a cornfield nearby"? Only suggesting.
