Can we say "Thank you for sending me off" instead of "Thank you for seeing me off" in a situation where someone is about to leave someplace and greeting his/her friends at the airport?

Top answer

seagull Thank you for seeing me off. This is fine. seagull Thank you for sending me off.

  • seagull Thank you for seeing me off.
  • This is fine.
  • seagull Thank you for sending me off.
  • This might be used for the same meaning, but I would avoid it because sending someone off can mean that you want them to leave.
  • More informally, you could say "Thanks for the (nice) send-off".
