Hi! everyone, Please help me with understanding this word "send for". I read it in dictionary which says it means"Have someone called". In this sentence-I have sent for the carpenter".Is it same as saying "I have had carpenter called"? Or Please have doctor called as mother is ill =Please send for the doctor as mother is ill. Thanks!
