What is the difference between a "seminar" and a "workshop"? Thanks.

However, my experience is that seminars tend to be more informational or lecture style presentations with maybe some small time set aside for discussion. To my knowledge, seminars almost always cover topics that are specialized or professional.

In a seminar, each participant may speak on a particular topic while the others listen. Except for the speakers, the experience is mostly passive.
