semicolon usage and one other

Hi,

1.Does this show a correct semicolon use?

If you say something is bad, you think it is not good; used showing disapproval.

2. Should I put 'from' in both places?

You stop them (from??) feeling angry.

Those are a group of people who try to stop them (from??) scoring.
