Semicolon correct?

In Job 32: 21-22 of the New Internation Version of the Bible, it is written:

21 I will show no partiality,
nor will I flatter anyone;
22 for if I were skilled in flattery,
my Maker would soon take me away.

I think both verses make up a complete sentence. Is it correct to have a semicolon in the place where it is? Thank you in advance for your help.
