Semicolon?

Dear all, I've just found this very useful site. Could someone help me out on the following sentence:

I am a History teacher at IBD; an Italian/English bilingual school.
(Can I use a semicolon when the second phrase is not a complete sentence? If not, could I use a comma here?) Thanks

Anonymous I am a History teacher at IBD ; an Italian/English bilingual school. A comma is the correct choice. The semicolon is sometimes used as a "strong comma," to contrast with other commas in a sentence ; but there's no justification for it here.
