Semi-formal letter -- editing required

Hi

Could you please edit this semi-formal letter? Any suggestions are welcome.

Dear Mr. Archer,

I am afraid you will find this sadly lacking in length and detail and perhaps far too behind the ‘due date’ -- but all I can tell you is that after getting an appointment with you, I had already started viewing myself as a member of Admore Team – I just felt that the things were going to work well, but unfortunately they didn’t.

Because my expectations were higher than the offer I received, I needed time to evaluate the situation, but then I had to return to the US and I could not even thank you formally for your time and effort on my behalf.

Please accept my sincere apologies. Needless to say, it was a pleasure seeing you.

Thanks,

Tom

It's fine as it is, Tom. It says exactly what you want it to say and any changes would be a matter of style only - not content. Rover
