Semi-Formal correspondance

I'd like to thank or express my appreciation to someone who helped me look for a job search in a spesific position. I didn't get the job, but i'd like to thank him regardless of the result. I don't want to say "thank you" or "many thanks" over and over again. Any Suggestions?
