Hi, I was just wondering, does this parenthesis read clearer if I use a semi-colon?

(after all, I was noting this down as it happened; as I have mentioned, I was in need of inspiration, and snowstorms don’t happen every day)

As opposed to:

(after all, I was noting this down as it happened, as I have mentioned, I was in need of inspiration, and snowstorms don’t happen every day)

It would be better to show us the complete sentence, but here are a few general remarks.

For good writing and sentence structure, my advice is to avoid the use of brackets completely.
If you do use them, my advice is to keep what is within them short, and simple in structure.

As the writer, your job is to make it easy for me, the reader, to understand your meaning as quickly and easily as possible.
Brackets are often a sign that you did not plan your writing properly before you began to write.
