This is for my law school personal statement, which is due tonight! So VERY important! Please please please help...
I need help with the following sentences:
My goals of law school became more than just something I would say as an appropriate answer about my future when friends or relatives would ask. They became my passion and driving force; something that I wanted for myself.
Should there be a comma or a semicolon in this last sentence? Or is the whole sentence just wrong? Help!
Top answer
There should be a comma. Semicolons are used between two independent clauses, but the second part of this sentence is not an independent clause.
