Semi-colon

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if you could me know whether I've used the semi-colon correctly in the following quote.

'This is paralleled in Tarquin's wishing to 'scale / Thy [Lucrece's] never-conquered fort' (l. ll. 481-2); however, rather than this violence of forcibly penetrating a female being restrained to this figurative language, it is instead performed through Tarquin's rape of Lucrece.'

Many thanks!
